Been a busy week in the Turtle Shell, we had Macy over to record a poem for one of the acoustic Silian Rail interludes and we finished a new remix of “Spark” for Grand Lake.

This week, we’re playing in The Aimless Never Miss at The Rickshaw Stop on Sun. 8/22, doing a live set/interview on Pirate Cat Radio (Listen live here at 8pm!) Mon. 8/23, and Tues. the  24th we’re DJing the vinyl release party at Cafe Du Nord for Grand Lake’s album “Blood Sea Dream.”

• This Thursday 8/12 – Jupiters Pizza in Berkeley – We’ll be play a longer live set for this show at 9PM and DJing with DJ Delon and our buddy Scully before and after.
• Tuesday 8/24 – Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco – We’re DJing the release show for the new Grand Lake record on Vinyl.
• Saturday 9/11 – Mama Buzz Cafe in Oakland – Our release show for “Sunlight & Circuitry”
• Wednesday 9/29 – The Goodfoot in Portland – Our first confirmed show for the West Coast Tour we’re booking now!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows at Mama Buzz and Jupiter. Posted and Summer of Glaciers were great, and SoG was the perfect soundtrack for watching people get arrested by OPD.

We’re excited to be getting the artwork back today for our new record, “Sunlight & Circuitry” which we’re releasing Sept. 14th on Third Culture Records.

Check out our buddy Daves new project Elephant & Castle. We helped finish off the mixes back in May, and he’s currently got it up for free on his bandcamp, so go check it out!

And finally we have a last minute show on Monday (8/2) at the Elbo Room in San Francisco with Faded Paper Figures (LA), Neighbors, and We Landed on the Moon! (Baton Rouge). We’re opening and the doors are at 9.

We’re back from the Aimless tour in one piece! Had a lot of fun, made some new friends, camped in the desert, and played an awesome show in San Diego with Burning of Rome, as well as here in Oakland at the WE Art Space on the 4th. We’ll be doing some more shows with Aimless at the end of Aug. too, including a show in San Francisco on the 22nd at The Rickshaw Stop.

We started revamping our own live set as well, with more synths! Our first show with this new set is on Monday July 19th at Mama Buzz in Oakland in support of Summer of Glaciers & P.D.Wilder who’ve been on a national tour this last month! We’ll be playing a couple of songs from the new record “Sunlight & Circuitry” as well, which we’re planning on releasing in Sept., more on that later.

We leave today for a small tour with The Aimless Never Miss (with Glenn on Keys and Adam on Drums)! I believe most of these shows are free, so cruise over to the Aimless myspace and check out the dates, we’re going to SLO, Joshua Tree, LA?, SD, Fresno and a final show here in Oakland on the 4th (HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA)!

Our first shows at The Space Gallery in SF and Fort here in Oakland were both a lot of fun, and we’ll be playing again with Summer of Glaciers on July 19th at Mama Buzz Cafe in Oakland.

Come out to The Space Gallery on 5.25.10 (Star Wars’ 33rd birthday) to our release party for Songs We Wish We Wrote You Vol.2. It’s our first show, and we’ll be playing with friends Austin Fraser and Summer of Glaciers. We’ve been busy prepping the live set, and it should be pretty fun, there will even be Star Wars projections by Luke Judd, as well as a few fun surprises!

We’re also excited because this weekend is the maiden voyage of  The Turtle Shell! We’ll be recording our friends Silian Rail, who’ll be doing an all acoustic EP with us.

Just posted some pictures from the mixing (and overdubbing) session we did for the next record. We mixed 7 songs (for “Sunlight & Circuitry“) in the new “B” Room at Sharkbite Studios with the help of our friends David Reep & Matt Tammariello. Now, the mixes are off to Twerk at AudibleOddities.
